Yes -
the Foundation’s Trustees want to help as many children
as possible. Consequently, the grant we make will not cover
the whole of the fees. You also need to ask your chosen school
if they will give a bursary and apply to other trusts who
have similar criteria to ours.
These are some of the trusts we work with. For further information

Will the Foundation help support
children at any boarding school?
No, not all.
We need to be satisfied that the school to which you apply
can meet your child’s needs and also, importantly, that
the money is available (from all sources) to pay the school
fees.
Many parents are surprised to learn that there are some state-maintained
boarding schools in the UK. These are less expensive than
independent boarding schools because tuition costs are free
- you only pay for boarding. You may like to contact the State
Boarding Schools’ Association www.sbsa.org.uk
or ring 020 7798 1580 for further information and to download/receive
a copy of the “Parents’ Guide to Maintained Boarding
Schools”.
How long does the application process take?
This will depend on how quickly we receive
all the information we need. We hope to be able to reach a
decision within eight to twelve weeks from receipt of your
Application Form. We work as quickly as we can and try to
process urgent applications in less time.
How old does a child have to be to get support and
at what age would support stop?
We usually consider helping
children from the age of 11. Exceptionally, we may consider
younger children, although there are fewer boarding schools
for children under 11. Where there is a strong boarding need
– and the family's circumstances remain unchanged -
our grant would normally continue for the duration of the
child's education at boarding school. We review individual
grants annually.
Are there any other checks?
Each year in the Summer
Term we will send you a Financial Review Form in which we
ask you to disclose your current financial situation and any
changes in your domestic circumstances.
Please do not hesitate to contact
us if we can be of further help.
